Monument Group, a global private placement agent with offices in Hong Kong and Tokyo, has merged with US-based secondary advisory firm Mozaic Capital Advisors, per an announcement.
Monument Group advises and assists on capital formation and liquidity solutions, including primary fundraisings, LP secondaries, GP-led transactions, capital solutions and advisory services.
Meanwhile, Mozaic Capital, which was founded in 2015, is focused on LP secondary solutions and GP-led transactions.
Monument said the combined team has raised and advised on over $131 billion of capital across 205 funds and transactions. It added that the duo had forged an eight-year strategic partnership before the merger.
Monument has advised on the fundraising of various Asian managers such as venture capital firms BAI Capital and Unicorns Partners; CLSA’s Sunrise Capital funds and buyout vehicle Aspirant Group III Series Funds in Japan; Filipino private equity firm Navegar; and Asia real estate funds by Phoenix Property Investors, among others.
Monument’s Hong Kong-based partners are Niklas Amundsson, former head of MVision Private Equity Advisers’ Hong Kong office and Albert Jun who was with South Korea’s NH Investment & Securities, while the Japan representative is Hiroshi Nishimuro who was leading private equity initiatives in Japan for Morgan Stanley.
