There’s a new player with a familiar face among the classic vehicles updated to deliver modern performance and comfort: the 1967-72 Ford F-100.
The F-100’s durability and classic profile made it the forerunner to Ford’s 46-year run of pickup-sales leadership. Now Velocity Modern Classics is building resto-mods — vintage vehicles restored and updated to modern standards for timeless appeal.
This new version of the workhorse that kept ranches, farms and worksites running generations ago can be yours in about 14 weeks, from order to delivery.
New running gear
The original bodywork has been restored, but just about everything else is new. Among performance improvements unimagined during the F-100’s first incarnation, the Velocity Signature Series F-100 comes with:
- A 5-liter Coyote Ford V8 engine
- 10-speed automatic transmission.
- A new Roadster Shop chassis.
- Independent front suspension.
- Front and rear Fox coilover springs.
- 13-inch Baer disc brakes with four-piston calipers.
Iconic road presence
The Signature Series F-100 may be the only pickup that can steal attention from Ford’s latest hit, the F-150 Lightning EV. It should, for prices that start at $279,900. Velocity also offers resto-mods of classic Ford Broncos, F-250s, Mustangs, Chevrolet K5 Blazers and International Scouts, and other classics built to order. The company rehabilitates ’67-’72 F-100 bodies and updates the vehicle with a combination of aftermarket parts and those it builds itself.

Construction takes about 14 weeks from the date of order and takes place in Velocity’s Pensacola, Florida, shop.
The truck retains the original vehicle identification number.
Ford’s factory warranty applies to the engine and transmission. Any Ford dealer can service the drivetrain. Velocity has a two-year warranty on everything else.
A Velocity-designed exhaust system promises a unique sound.
Other immediately apparent upgrades include:
- LED headlights.
- Michelin tires.
- 18-inch alloy wheels.
- New glass and weather seals.
- Custom BASF Glasurit paint.
- Chrome bumpers.
- Wooden steering wheel.
- Tilt steering column.
