Tamil Nadu‘s nodal agency for entrepreneurship StartupTN along with investment promotion agency Guidance TN and other stakeholders on Monday launched the Automotive, Electric Vehicle (EV) and Smart Mobility Forum for the state’s startups.
Functioning as a multi-agency forum to help startups in the new-age smart mobility and EV sector, the forum will help startups connect with investors, seek mentorship, help in policy-level support etc. The new Automotive, Electric Vehicle and Smart Mobility Forum will bring together sectoral startups, corporates, experts, industry bodies, aspirants, incubators, mentors, investors, and government departments to make Tamil Nadu a leader in the sector.
StartupTN also signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with automotive majors Bosch and Mahindra & Mahindra to enable deeper corporate – startup connect for mentoring, product validation, testing and other activities.
Launching the forum, Vishnu V, MD of Guidance TN, said that startups are among key players when it comes to R&D in the EV and smart mobility space, and collaboration with StartupTN is to engage with such startups early in their value chain.
“Today TN is competing with the world when it comes to electric mobility…Global innovation companies often look at local joint venture partners for setting up here, and through such forums, we can help project the potential of our startups’ globally,” he added.
