New Delhi: Pod Point, a British EV charging provider company, has Thursday appointed former CEO of Ashok Leyland-owned Switch Mobility, Andy Palmer, as its interim CEO. The industry veteran shared the news of his appointment through his twitter handle and gave an official statement sharing his future goal of working towards building a zero emission future. Palmer succeeds Erik Fairbairn, who’s also the founder of Pod Point.
Andy Palmer joined the Pod Point Board prior to the company’s IPO in 2021. He is considered as one of the most experienced executives in the automobile industry. He has earlier worked as the Chief Operating Officer of Nissan, and was also the Chief Executive Officer of Aston Martin Lagonda.
Established in 2009, Pad point has sold over 1,95,000 charging points all across the UK. It has also deployed an EV Driver network with more than 8,200 charging bays in locations like Tesco, Lidl, and Center Parcs. The company has also provided charging points to leading automobile manufacturers like Audi, BMW, Hyundai and Kia.
Pad Point has also declared that Karen Myres will succeed Palmer and work as Senior Independent Director on an interim term. The company also informed that Erik will be on the board and act as interim CEO till the end of his contractual term.
