Bitdefender to acquire Singapore-based cybersecurity firm HorangiThe company had raised a $20 million Series B round led by Provident Growth in 2020.

Global cybersecurity leader Bitdefender is acquiring Singapore-based Horangi Cyber Security as it seeks to meet the growing demand for advanced solutions and management of compliance and governance in multi-cloud environments.

With this acquisition, Bitdefender will incorporate Horangi’s Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM) and Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) capabilities into the Bitdefender GravityZone unified risk.

Horangi’s security services offerings, which include proactive risk assessment, red teaming, and penetration testing, will integrate with Bitdefender’s Managed Detection & Response (MDR) services.

Acquisition of Horangi is “a strategic move that will amplify our risk analytics, threat detection and response capabilities in the cloud and complement our GravityZone platform to help business customers combat evolving cybersecurity threats as the attack surface grows”, according to Bitdefender co-founder and CEO Florin Talpes.

Founded in 2016, Horangi Cyber Security’s flagship platform, Horangi Warden, is a cloud-native solution that secures critical cloud infrastructures for enterprise organisations across all major public cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

The company raised a $20-million Series B round led by Southeast Asian private equity firm Provident Growth in 2020. The round was joined by return backers Monk’s Hill Ventures, Right Click Capital, and Genesis Alternative Ventures, a Southeast Asian venture debt fund.

The Singaporean startup had also raised $3.1 million in a Series A round in November 2017 led by Monk’s Hill Ventures.
