Volkswagen has filled another key position in the group with a manager from Porsche. Stefan Weckbach will become Head of Group Strategy and Head of the General Secretariat at Volkswagen on September 1, the carmaker announced on Wednesday in Wolfsburg.
The 46-year-old is currently head of the Mission X concept series for the sports car subsidiary. In his new role, he is responsible for the Group’s product strategy and reports directly to CEO Oliver Blume.
Weckbach succeeds Gernot Döllner, who has been promoted to become the new CEO of Audi. He is supposed to get the Ingolstadt-based VW subsidiary back on course and will replace Markus Duesmann at the top of the company.
Andreas Lehe will succeed Peter Bosch as head of production at the subsidiary Bentley. He is currently in charge of strategic planning for production and logistics at Audi.
