Opel: 1600 contracts with dealers are terminated – and the majority renegotiated
The car maker Opel, which is in the process of refurbishment, has terminated all European dealership contracts. The goal is to have new agreements that could increase the performance and profitability of the trade, said a company spokesman in Rüsselsheim on Tuesday.
In Europe, about 1,600 contracts are terminated, with Germany accounting for 385.
Only twelve of these companies should not be made a new offer, announced Germany boss Jürgen Keller in an interview with the journal “Autohaus”. Therefore, there is no question of a thinning out of the distribution network. The new contracts are now being negotiated and Keller is expected to enter into force in early 2020.
