Volkswagen ID. Buzz at a trade fair in Augsburg

After weaknesses in the Chinese business, Volkswagen is also struggling with demand problems for its electric models on the home market. In the private customer segment, incoming orders in Germany are well below the planned annual target, an insider from dealer circles reports to the Handelsblatt.
All battery-electric models from Volkswagen are affected, i.e. ID.3, ID.4, ID.5 and ID.Buzz. A spokeswoman for the VW brand confirmed on request that the company is currently feeling “like other car manufacturers a general reluctance to buy electric cars”.
According to figures from data service provider Marklines, Volkswagen built 97,000 units of its ID models in Europe between January and May, but only sold 73,000 of them. Most of the E models are produced at the plants in Zwickau, Dresden and Hanover.
