Singapore-based venture capital firm Peak XV (formerly Sequoia Capital India and Southeast Asia) has promoted Rohit Agarwal to managing director and partner. Separately, Singapore-based multinational banking and financial services company Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation has appointed Mike Ng as chief sustainability officer (CSO).

Singapore-based venture capital firm Peak XV (formerly Sequoia Capital India and Southeast Asia) has promoted Rohit Agarwal to managing director and partner.

He joins existing managing directors Shailendra Singh and Abheek Anand at the helm of investments from its Singapore office.

Agarwal previously served as principal at Peak XV’s investment team and has been with the firm since 2015. He is a board member of several Southeast Asian companies including Kopi Kenangan, Bibit, Lemonilo, Tonik, Kargo Technologies, Shipper, Multiplier, Shift, Insider, FlowAccount.com, AI Rudder and SmartKarma.

Agarwal advises on Peak XV’s investments, focusing on early and growth-stage investments across fintech, SaaS, consumer goods and e-commerce.

OCBC appoints Mike Ng as chief sustainability officer

Singapore-based multinational banking and financial services company Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation has appointed Mike Ng as the chief sustainability officer (CSO).

Ng will be expected to manage and grow OCBC’s sustainability efforts and support clients’ transition. OCBC recently created the position of CSO.

Ng has worked with OCBC for over 12 years as the head of the bank’s structured finance and sustainable finance unit and later as the head of the global wholesale banking unit.

Before joining OCBC, he was the director of RBS International’s structured capital markets unit.
