Bengaluru-based medium and heavy electric truck manufacturer Tresa Motors has appointed Vinod K Dasari as the chairman of the Board. The EV OEM is banking on Dasari’ extensive experience in the Indian automobile industry to gain a foothold in the domestic market as well as explore global business opportunities.
Dasari, who was formerly CEO of Royal Enfield, CEO and MD of Ashok Leyland, and also president of apex industry body SIAM (from 2015-2017), will spearhead Tresa Motors’ strategic direction, help drive innovation, and foster synergies within the organisation.

Dasari, who was voted Autocar Professional‘s Man of the Year 2016, will assume his new role at Tresa Motors with immediate effect.
At the core of Tresa’s trucks lies its Axial Flux Motor technology, called FLUX350, delivering up to 350kW continuous power.
Founded by Rohan Shravan and Ravi Machani in 2022, Tresa’s core competencies are in industrial design, electric powertrain, and battery related technologies. It currently is developing electric trucks in the 18T-55T GVW segment and unveiled its first vehicle, the Model V0.1 on July 3, 2023. The official product launch is to happen in the second quarter (July-September 2023) of FY2024.
Tresa Motors has outlined an ambitious growth strategy, starting with the Model VO.1 which the company states is designed for the global market and built on its Axial Flux Motor platform. At the core of Tresa’s trucks lies its Axial Flux Motor technology, called FLUX350, delivering up to 350kW continuous power. The debut product showcases Tresa Motors’ take on the industrial design, axial flux powertrain and safe battery packs for the medium and heavy electric truck.
Tresa Motors aims to spearhead the transition to electric trucks by providing safe, innovative, and eco-friendly alternatives to traditional diesel trucks – currently estimated at around 2.8 million units in India – with lowest total cost of ownership.
