Two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp reported domestic sales of 371,204 units in July 2023. The company registered a decline of 13.8% when compared to 430,684 units sold in the same month last year.
During the month under review, the company reported a total (Domestic + Exports) 391,310 units, down 12%, as compared to 445,580 units in July 2022.
According to Hero MotoCorp, the numbers are reflective of the inclement weather conditions in July, including unprecedented rains and floods in certain parts of the country.
“The incessant rains and the floods caused crop damage in several states and also resulted in a sharp decline in customer footfalls at the dealerships. New product launches leading into the upcoming festive season, along with attractive finance schemes, are expected to result in improvement in market demand in the coming months,” the company added.
In July, Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson launched their first co-developed premium motorcycle, the Harley-Davidson X440 in India, at the Harley-Hero Centre for Innovation and Technology (CIT), Jaipur.
Hero MotoCorp will start production of the Harley-Davidson X440 in September at the company’s Garden Factory at Neemrana, in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan, and deliveries will commence in October 2023.
