Singapore-based global venture firm Antler has appointed Frank Kang as associate partner and country head for Malaysia, while Salesforce has hired Rain Hu as country leader for Singapore and Taiwan

Antler names Frank Kang as Malaysia country head

Angel investor and advisor Frank Kang has been appointed as global venture firm Antler’s associate partner and country head for Malaysia, according to a company announcement.

Formerly a venture partner at Vynn Capital, Kang brings 17 years of entrepreneurial experience to Antler and will be responsible for leading Antler’s investment strategy and operations in the country

At age 23, he co-founded the social networking service People2 and later established a Twitter directory in Korea, acquired and expanded an e-commerce platform, and also founded the Korean beauty platform, Althea, which he ran from 2015 to 2021.

“Being a senior school year dropout and having experienced both failure and success early in my career, I’m excited to support founders to build and scale meaningful businesses that can bring positive impact to the world,” said Kang in a statement.

Founded in 2018, Antler has invested in over 792 companies across 26 cities worldwide, and has a cumulative portfolio value of $3.7 billion.

Rain Hu named Salesforce’s Singapore and Taiwan country leader

NYSE-listed software company Salesforce announced on Tuesday that it has hired Rain Hu as its country leader for Singapore and Taiwan.

Hu brings with her close to 20 years of experience in the enterprise software sector and will be responsible for leading Salesforce’s team and business growth in both countries.

She was most recently the ASEAN and Greater China area vice president for software company Elastic, and has held various regional leadership roles in technology companies such as SolarWinds and ServiceNow.

Salesforce, which offers AI-enhanced customer relationship management (CRM) solutions, established its Singapore office in 2004 and has since been serving customers in ASEAN and Taiwan.
