Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that it is important that every sector grows to ensure the growth of the economy. In this context, he highlighted the role of pharmaceuticals, auto, tourism and food processing sectors. He was speaking after distributing more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits via videoconferencing.
The Rozgar Mela was held at 45 locations across the country. Through this employment fair, the Union home ministry recruited personnel to various central armed police forces. The PM congratulated the new appointees for their selection as ‘Amrit Rakshak’ during Amrit Kaal, a term used by the government for the period between India’s 75th and 100th anniversary of Independence.
He said the new appointees will not only serve the country but will also protect the country and the countrymen. “You are Amrit Rakshak of this Amrit Kaal,” he said. He said the Indian economy was on the path of rapid growth, which had led to creation of big opportunities for employment of the youth.
Citing the example of the pharmaceutical industry, he said the sector worth INR 4 lakh crore at present is expected to grow to Rs 10 lakh crore by 2030. “What does it mean? It means that in this decade the pharma industry will need a lot of youth. There will be opportunities for employment,” Modi said.
He said the tourism sector alone was expected to contribute INR 20 lakh crore to the economy by 2030 and had the potential to create “13-14 crore new jobs”. He said the automobile sector too was on the growth path and would require youth power to propel it. “There will be immense employment opportunities,” the PM said.
