Hyundai Motor Company is to provide 346 all-electric Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 cars to transport delegates and officials at the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Summit to be held from September 5-7 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
At the 43rd ASEAN Summit, 10 major Southeast Asian countries will participate and discuss ‘The Importance of ASEAN: Center of Growth’ including developing eco-friendly infrastructure, digital transformation, creative economy and finance.
While 272 Ioniq 5s will be used throughout the event, including for protocol and emergency situations during the event, 74 Ioniq 6s will be deployed as ceremonial vehicles for the spouses of the delegation.
Hyundai Motor Company has provided 24-hour emergency service and on-site charging service to ensure the safety and convenience of the delegations of participating countries, and provided vehicle function and driving training to Indonesia’s Presidential Security Unit (Paspampres), which is responsible for driving the vehicles of the heads of state and other delegations of each country.
