The car manufacturer Volkswagen sends its employees at the main plant in Wolfsburg on short-time work due to a lack of parts. “The measure applies from September 11 to 29,” said company spokesman Andreas Meurer on Monday.
First, “Business Insider” reported on it, citing corporate circles. In addition, there are occasional shift failures at the VW plant in Emden.
The floods in Slovenia paralyzed the production of a subcontractor for sprocket rings, which is now affecting vehicle production. This means that the group’s second factory is already on short-time work after a Portuguese assembly plant near Lisbon had to interrupt production for nine weeks at the end of August.
