Tresa Motors unveils e-axle with axial flux motor, electric truck trials to begin soon

Bengaluru-based Tresa Motors, which unveiled its first electric truck, the Model V0.1 built on its axial flux motor platform Flux 350, in July, has showcased the DAX-1 electric axle which integrates Tresa’s FLUX350 motor, motor controller, AMT gearbox and differential into a single compact unit.

According to Tresa Motors, its medium and heavy electric truck platform Model V0.1 is capable of carrying a load capacity ranging from 18 to 55 tons. DAX-1 is powered by Tresa’s FLUX350 platform motors, and these can operate within the range of 150Kw to 350Kw. Weighing just under 25kg, the motor can deliver up to 350 kW of power.

Tresa’s battery packs (Meg50), which offer a capacity of 50Kwh are fully submerged into di-electric liquid which, as per the company, provides 360-degree cooling to its cells and acts as a fire retardant.

The company’s flagship truck Model V0.1 also showcases the modularity of its battery packs and this allows the range to be expanded, even of the Model V even after the truck is purchased. Depending on the range and application, the Model V can carry up to 12 modules of Meg50.

In terms of driver comfort, the cabins of Model V are designed with central seating for drivers, providing a commanding view of the road ahead, are air conditioned and come equipped with airbags. They also leverage LIDAR and AI, offering the promise of being amongst the safest in the world.

The DAX 1 e-axle integrates Tresa’s Flux 350 motor, motor controller, AMT gearbox and differential into a single compact unit.
