Grammer AG, the leading interior supplier for top international players in the automotive sector, has developed a centre console for the rear bench of the HiPhi X electric SUV from Chinese manufacturer Human Horizons.
“As one of the Chinese showcase projects for the European market, the HiPhi X is on a par with current high-end models from established premium manufacturers when it comes to superior quality standards,” said Jurgen Gerl, President Division Automotive at Grammer AG. “Its interior is equipped to a correspondingly high standard, scoring points with numerous displays, storage areas, light panels and fine materials.”
“One highlight is Grammer’s rear centre console with display holder, smartphone trays, cup holders and two-fold-out tables hidden under a butterfly armrest. It impresses not only with highest-quality craftsmanship and upholstery of the finest semi aniline leather, but also with special features like cupholders in the two table surfaces with exquisite, magnetic inserts to keep glasses in perfect hold.”
The console was developed with focus on extravagance and high-end quality for this premium vehicle and is produced at Grammer Shanghai, less than four hours’ drive away from the Human Horizons plant in Yancheng. The lead time was just nine months from the start of development to the start of production of the centre console.

The HiPhi X’s powertrain combines 220kW dual motors front and rear, allowing for 0-100kph in 3.9 seconds, and with motor efficiency of 97.2% – among the best in its class. A 97kWh battery pack provides a range of 650km in the Extended Range versions under CLTC conditions.
Each HiPhi X version comes with luxurious appointments like a 17-speaker Meridian audio system, a 19.9-inch entertainment screen purely for the front passenger and a ssmart fragrance system. HiPhi X is available in six-seat or even four-seat configuration, including a smart refrigerator, 8-inch rear high-definition touch-screens and fully adjustable executive airline-style seats.
