Truckistan, a Pakistani startup, and MedEasy, an online pharmacy in Bangladesh, have announced raising fresh funds in their respective seed rounds.

Truckistan raises close to $1m in seed funding

Truckistan Technologies, a Pakistan-based less-than-truckload (LTL) startup, has announced raising close to $1 million in its seed funding round backed by several venture investors, including SOSV’s Orbit Startups.

The round also received commitments from Reflect Ventures, Mentor’s Fund, Sarmayacar, SAI Ventures, Loyal VC, Five Rivers Ventures, and a host of angel investors. The startup raised an undisclosed amount in its pre-seed round in January 2022.

Co-founded by Abid Butt and Zafar Khan, Truckistan is developing a logistics platform to make shipping faster and cheaper. The platform allows customers to track every box of their shipment in real time. The startup ships goods by trucks across 214 locations in Pakistan.

Butt, who is also CEO of Truckistan, said the fresh funding will be used to further grow and refine the company’s services, which include Eco — delivering to tier 1 cities within 48-96 hours — and Express—delivering to tier 1 cities within 24 to 72 hours.

Truckistan is an LTL company that allows shippers to ship goods by truck even if they do not have enough cargo to fill a full truckload.

Dhaka-based online pharmacy MedEasy raises $750K in funding

Bangladeshi online pharmacy startup MedEasy has announced raising $750,000 in a seed funding round to enhance its platform’s features and boost its R&D efforts.

The round was backed by Seedstars International Ventures, Doha Tech Angels, Startup Bangladesh Limited, Accelerating Asia, and nVentures. Several angel investors also participated, according to the announcement.

MedEasy offers authentic and affordable medicines sourced directly from trusted manufacturers through its online platform. Within two years of its launch, the platform has garnered over 150,000 users, the company said.

“Our vision has always been to bridge the gap between quality healthcare and those who need it the most. This funding is a validation of our efforts and will enable us to scale our services and reach even more individuals in need,” said MedEasy co-founder and CEO Arefin Zaman.
