GM unveiled the Buick Enspire all-electric concept SUV at Auto China 2018 in Beijing this week.
The automaker listed a series of impressive electric powertrain specs, like a 410 kW motor enabling a 0-60 mph acceleration in 4 seconds and a battery pack that allows for 370 miles of range on a single charge.
It all sounds impressive, but the fact that it is a concept vehicle means that those specs are just words – for now at least.
Buick also listed a few “experience features”:
Exterior feature lines and advanced aerodynamics accentuate the exterior’s strong, sculptural look.
A “surround skyline” interior theme and suspended theater-type seating give the Enspire a bright and spacious interior.
The center console and armrests are made from natural wood grain and microfiber suede.
Cutting-edge technologies include an OLED display screen and an intelligent augmented reality technology-based head-up display system.

Electrek’s Take:
As far as concepts go, this one might have a better chance than normal of making it into production. Why? It looks a lot like the mystery CUV GM purposely leaked (right, below) in its presentation last year (along with the Bolt Cruise edition, below left) that is slated to begin production by 2020. Yes the front grille is different and those new tires are a big improvement but there are a ton of similarities.
We’re expecting to hear more about GMs EV plans even if they’ve been extremely disappointing of late. We’d love to see this Tesla Model Y/Jaguar I-PACE competitor come to the US and 2020 can’t come soon enough.
