Uber on Thursday announced the appointment of Prashanth Mahendra-Rajah as the company’s new chief financial officer, with effect from November 13.
Currently, Mahendra-Rajah is the CFO of Analog Devices, where his role includes overseeing the company’s global finance organisation, along with financial management, planning, controls, and reporting.
“Prashanth is an incredibly skilled and dynamic finance executive, with decades of experience across a variety of complex industries,” said Dara Khosrowshahi, the CEO of Uber. “I’m confident he’ll be able to help us deliver even more innovation and efficiency as we continue this next phase of profitable growth.”
The new CFO will succeed Nelson Chai, who announced earlier this year that he would be stepping down from his role in January 2024, after a five-year stint.
“I’m delighted to join Uber, one of the world’s most iconic technology companies, at such a promising moment in its journey,” said Mahendra-Rajah. “I couldn’t be more excited for the road ahead.”
Mahendra-Rajah, who holds a BS in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan, an MS in engineering from Johns Hopkins University, and an MBA from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University, earlier served as the CFO of WABCO Holdings Inc., a supplier of commercial vehicle technologies.
