New Delhi: Extending skill training opportunities in the domain of automobile retail, Maruti Suzuki India Limited has partnered with S.S. Jain Subodh P.G. (Autonomous) College, Jaipur. As a part of the collaboration, an extensive three-year BBA in Automobile Retail Management will be offered to students. This industry-oriented program will entail one-year theoretical training followed by two years of On-the-Job Training (OJT), ensuring comprehensive learning.
The Company and the institute have jointly developed the course curriculum, in line with the requirements of the Indian automobile industry, adhering to the prescribed UGC guidelines.
During the OJT at Maruti Suzuki dealerships in Jaipur, the students will get an opportunity to hone their skills in actual work environment. Under the ‘Earn While You Learn’ model, the students will also be offered stipend during the two-year OJT period.
On completion of the course, the students will also be extended support to secure placement at Maruti Suzuki dealerships, depending on their performance.
Maruti Suzuki’s Industry Integrated Degree Program: Under its Industry Integrated Degree Program initiative, Maruti Suzuki has collaborated with universities across the country to extend skill training in automobile retail. These efforts are a part of the Company’s Skill Development initiative.
So far, Maruti Suzuki has partnered with 12 universities across 11 cities in the country to impart learning in automobile retail. These are Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (Gurgaon), Delhi Skill & Entrepreneurship University (Delhi), Savitribai Phule Pune University (Pune), GLS University (Ahmedabad), Tata Institute of Social Sciences – SVE (Mumbai), B.K. Birla College (Kalyan), Centurion University of Technology & Management (Bhubaneswar), Kristu Jayanti College (Bengaluru), Guru Nanak College (Chennai), Integral University (Lucknow), DAV University (Jalandhar) and S.S. Jain Subodh P.G. (Autonomous) College (Jaipur).
Over 600 students are currently being trained as a part of these partnerships across different cities, the company said.
