Ora UK, the British arm of the Great Wall Motors brand, has revealed the First Edition+ variant of its Funky Cat EV. The new variant commemorates the brand’s one-year anniversary of its UK operations while previewing the full Ora Funky Cat range of vehicles set to reach the UK in 2024.
The First Edition+ is equipped with a new 63 kWh battery option, offered alongside the 48-kWh battery featured in the base Funky Cat model, that provides an estimated 260 miles (418 km) of range. Inside, the variant will share much of the technology featured in the base model, including wireless phone charging, facial recognition, electric front seats, app integration and an intelligent voice assistant called ‘Hello Ora’. In the future, wireless compatibility with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be added to this feature set through an over-the-air software update. In addition to these technologies, the First Edition+ will also provide customers with new interior features – such as heated, cooled and massage front seats, heated steering-wheel, panoramic sunroof, and automatic parking assistance.
This technology offering extends further to its range of standard ADAS. Among these are systems for Front Collision Warning and Auto Emergency Braking, Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Brake, Smart Cruise Control, Lane Change Assist and Blind Spot Detection.
UK sales of the ORA Funky Cat First Edition+ will begin in mid-October at £33,795 ($40,996 / €39,043). Offered in a limited run of 50 units, the variant will also be equipped with unique design details such as First Edition+ badging, mats, keys and a Type 2 charging cable.
