Movin, a joint venture between UPS and InterGlobe Enterprises, on Monday, started operations by introducing the second fleet of Electric Vehicles (EV) for its first and last-mile deliveries in Bengaluru, said the brand through its press release.
The first fleet was rolled out in Delhi NCR earlier this year.
EVs will soon be deployed in Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune by the end of 2023 as part of its plan to reduce carbon emissions and to align with its long-term sustainability goals, said the company in its statement.
“At Movin, we are committed to accelerating the adoption of clean energy mobility solutions, driving positive change in the logistics industry with a focus on sustainability, community, and technology. We are determined to continue electrifying our fleet across various cities in the coming months,” JB Singh, Director, Movin Express said.
“At UPS, the electrification of our fleet is vital, enabling us to reach our target of 40% alternative fuel usage in ground operations by 2025 and attaining carbon neutrality by 2050. We’ll continue to engage public and private stakeholders to help ensure we achieve our carbon neutrality goal by 2050,” Gregory Goba Ble, Director of Movin Express said.
The Economic Survey 2023 has said that India’s domestic electric vehicle market will see a 49% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) between 2022 and 2030, with 10 million annual sales by 2030.
