New Delhi: Bajaj Auto on Wednesday posted a 17.5% growth in its consolidated profit after tax (PAT) to INR 2020.05 crore in the quarter ended September 2023, as against INR 1719.44 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year.
Total revenue from operations during Q2 FY24 stood at INR 10 838.24 crore as against INR 10.202.71 crore in Q2 FY23, the company said.
During the quarter under review, Bajaj Auto posted a 8% decline in total sales to 10,53,953 units, as against 11,51,012 units in the second quarter of the last fiscal year.
Total domestic sales dipped 8% to 6,37,556 units in Q2 FY24 as against 6,94,375 units in Q2 FY23. The sales include 5,05,320 two wheelers and 1,32,236 three wheelers in the July- September 2023 period.
Total exports marked a de-growth of 9% to 4,16,397 compared with 4,56,637 units in Q2 the previouz year.
Bajaj Auto surplus funds stood at INR 17,326 crore as on September 30, 2023, after dividend distribution of about INR 4,000 crore during the quarter.
The company said the deliveries of Triumph Speed 400 initiated in August have got good customer response. “System capacity being built on front/back end for rapid scale up; the launch of Scrambler 400X and start of exports are planned for Q3, while work on taking the brand experience to over 100 cities by the year end is on track (currently 26),” it said.
