Campbell Lutyens has opened an office in Melbourne, while online fraud prevention platform Darwinium has raised $18 million in a Series A funding round.

Campbell Lutyens’s first office in Australia

Global private capital advisor Campbell Lutyens has opened an office in Melbourne, Australia, according to a release. The office, which is Campbell Lutyens’s first office in Australia, is part of its expansion plans for the Asia-Pacific region. The Melbourne office complements the firm’s existing APAC offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Seoul.

Campbell Lutyens has raised or advised on more than $23 billion in fund placement and secondary advisory transactions in the APAC region over the last five years.

Peter Siapikoudis, who joined the firm as managing director, leads the Melbourne office and is responsible for the Australasian region.

“We are delighted to expand further into Asia Pacific, and this new office reflects our commitment to our clients and investors in the region over the long term,” said Andrew Sealey, CEO at Campbell Lutyens.

Campbell Lutyens specialises in providing fund placement, secondary advisory, and GP capital advisory services to fund managers and investors.

Darwinium secures $18m in Series A financing

Online fraud prevention platform Darwinium has raised $18 million in a Series A funding round, according to a LinkedIn post shared by the company.

Silicon Valley-based US Venture Partners, Australia- and New Zealand-based VC firm Blackbird, Sydney-based AirTree, and angel investors participated in the funding round.

“Darwinium offers a product that is both simple to deploy and effective at reducing fraud losses and reputational damage associated with the ever-more complex web of digital fraud. Darwinium is a game-changer, differentiated in a crowded market, offering the innovation that businesses are asking for to simplify their risk stack,” said Rick Lewis, general partner at US Venture Partners.

Darwinium is a next-generation digital security and fraud prevention platform running on the perimeter edge, protecting customers from fraud, scams, and online abuse. The company is headquartered in the US with offices in Sydney and London.
