Porsche will initiate a bug bounty program soon in collaboration with external cybersecurity researchers to enhance the security of its products and digital services.
Ethical hackers will engage in advertised activities, following specified conditions and reporting security vulnerabilities to Porsche before they can be exploited. Mattias Ulbrich, CEO of Porsche Digital GmbH and CIO of Porsche AG, emphasizes the importance of security for their digital services, echoing their commitment to quality and safety.
The Porsche bug bounty program complements the services provided by its global cybersecurity team and will be conducted by experts from the Porsche //DigitalFamily. It relies on the global security community’s creativity and collective intelligence, with initiatives posted on established bug bounty platforms. Participants who report actual security vulnerabilities will receive a financial reward.
Jörg Möbes, Director of Information Security and Chief Information Security Officer at Porsche AG, said the utmost priority of safeguarding customer, employee, and company data. He views participation in bug bounty programs as the logical next step in their comprehensive security measures.
