South Korea-based Shinhan EZ General Insurance has launched in Indonesia by partnering with Tap Insure, an online insurance platform operated by PasarPolis, while data solutions firm Straive has acquired design-led data science company Gramener.

Shinhan EZ General Insurance expands to Indonesia

South Korea-based Shinhan EZ General Insurance has launched in Indonesia by partnering with Tap Insure, an online insurance platform operated by Indonesian insurtech PasarPolis, per a LinkedIn post shared by Tap Insure.

Shinhan EZ General Insurance is South Korean conglomerate Shinhan Financial Group’s insurance arm.

PasarPolis, one of the top three insurtech players in Indonesia, became the first official full-stack insurance ecosystem after it signed a strategic collaboration with Tap Insurance.

Founded in 2015, PasarPolis has a total of 60,000 registered agents, working with 50 insurance partners and 40 ecosystem partners including Tokopedia, Gojek, Traveloka, Xiaomi, and IKEA Indonesia.

Data solutions firm Straive acquires Gramener

Data solutions firm Straive has acquired design-led data science company, Gramener, according to a release.

“Partnering with Straive allows us to offer comprehensive data services, spanning from data extraction and engineering to data science, visualization, and AI. This positions us at a competitive advantage as we continue to create value for our clients,” said Gramener co-founder and COO Naveen Gattu.

Straive, owned by BPEA EQT, has a presence in the United States, the UK & Europe, Singapore, India, the Philippines, Nicaragua and Vietnam.  

Gramener is a design-led data science company that helps solve complex business problems with compelling data stories using insights and a low-code analytics platform.
