Aussie venue management platform ROLLER raises $50m from Insight Partners

Australian venue management platform ROLLER has raised $50 million in a funding round led by the global software investor Insight Partners.

ROLLER, founded in 2011 by brothers Luke and Mark Finn, makes software that manages the operations of 1,500 leisure and attraction venues across 30 countries. The latest funding round will provide additional resources and capacity for ROLLER to invest in its platform and service, according to a press release.

Its services include ticketing, integrated payments, memberships, gift cards, waivers, self-serve kiosks and cashless wallets. The startup has previously been backed by former Telstra chairman John Mullen and Star Entertainment chief executive Robbie Cook.

“From Day 1, we have been focused on delivering solutions that have a real impact on our customers’ businesses, and with the additional support of Insight Partners, we will be able to accelerate innovation and expand our global footprint,” said Mark Finn.

The company claims to have achieved more than 5x revenue growth over the last 3 years.

Insight Partners is a New York-based global software investor, with offices in LondonTel Aviv, and Palo Alto, partnering with high-growth technology, software, and Internet startup and ScaleUp companies.

In July this year, the firm raised $118 million for its second 20/20 Vision Capital fund, which aims to invest in venture capital funds led by diverse managers.

Insight Partners has invested in more than 800 companies worldwide and has seen over 55 portfolio companies achieve an IPO.

Last year, the firm acquired a minority stake in Singapore-based Coda Payments. Insight Partners has also invested in payments software startup Spenmo, Israel-based robotic beehive maker Beewise, Data privacy startup Privado and SaaS firm Atlan among others.

As of June 30, 2023, it has over $80 billion in regulatory assets under management.
