Ireland-headquartered battery storage technology company ADS-TEC Energy has received more than 100 million euros in new orders, from both existing and new customers, for delivery of its fast-charging systems in 2023 and 2024.
New customers include Dutch charging point operator PowerGo, which has ordered 20 ChargeBox systems. These will be installed in Spain and the Netherlands for use in public spaces and by fleet operators in the transport and logistics sectors. The order is part of PowerGo’s plans for major European expansion.
ADS-TEC says its battery-storage-based charging technology is designed to especially benefit last-mile logistics, because it can provide up to 320 kW of charging power even when the connection at a charging location is less than 110 kVA—thereby reducing the need for costly grid expansion. This is particularly beneficial in places with high EV usage like the Netherlands where the existing power grid has reached its maximum capacity in many areas due to charging demand.
“This is exactly the kind of system we need to meet the ambitious demands of the market and the strong growth in e-mobility in countries with power-limited grids,” said Jean-Louis Bertholet, CEO of PowerGo.
