VALÈNCIA, Apr. 19 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The management of Ford Almussafes has convened workers’ representatives Thursday after announcing their intention to negotiate a new Temporary Employment Regulation File (ERTE) in the engine plant, in view of the decrease in sales of the engine that is currently manufactured and for the “delay” of the launch of the Maverick model, trade union sources have explained to Europa Press.

During the meeting, the multinational will detail its proposal and negotiations will begin. “An unpleasant surprise,” lamented UGT PV spokesman at the plant, Carlos Faubel. However, he trusts that it is only a “bump” on the road.

The fact that next April 30 the ERTE in force that affects 270 workers of the engine plant ends, so the union representative believes that the approach of the new ERTE could affect the same employees and “lengthen” his situation “a couple of months more”.

In any case, he pointed out that we will have to wait for the meeting on Thursday. For Faubel, the news “is not a source of satisfaction, much less”, but he hopes that in the near future the forecasts of increased production in the Valencian factory can be met and even carry out “tests to incorporate more people into the plant of engines. “
