Tata Power, a leading integrated power company in India, has initiated a program to encourage its employees in Delhi NCR to adopt electric vehicles (EVs) as part of its commitment to improving air quality.
Aligned with the ‘Sustainable is Attainable’ movement, the program aims to foster a culture of responsible environmental practices among the nearly 4000 employees in the region.
Employees are incentivised to purchase EVs, with the company providing free charging facilities at select office locations and collaborating with Tata Motors to offer special prices, priority delivery, and financing options for popular EV models.
This initiative is part of Tata Power’s broader efforts to promote a sustainable lifestyle for the environment.
Commenting on the announcement, Himal Tewari, CHRO, Chief – CSR & Sustainability, Tata Power said, “We are encouraging our employees to embrace e-mobility and champion the cause of sustainable lifestyle by reducing individual carbon footprint. Tata Power is cultivating a culture of environmental stewardship, empowering every employee to become a ‘Climate Action Hero’ through such initiatives. We hope this move will also contribute towards improving the AQI in Delhi NCR, the city with one of the highest vehicular densities in the country.”
The company’s current EV charging network consists of 250+ e-Bus charging points, and 500+ public and semi-public charging points across Delhi NCR.
