Mercedes-Benz will manufacture its new compact in five plants spread over three continents

Mercedes-Benz will manufacture the new generations of its compact models in five plants spread over three different continents, with the A-Class as the first vehicle that gives the kick-off to this wave of mass production.

Specifically, the first unit of the fourth generation of Class A has left the production line of the plant that the company has in Rastatt (Germany), as detailed by Daimler in a statement.

The compact family of Mercedes-Benz is composed of Class A, Class B, CLA, CLA Shooting Brake and GLA models, although, “in the future”, it will grow up to eight variants.

The star brand factory in Rastatt leads the manufacturing of Mercedes-Benz compact cars, and is responsible for the control, planning and management of suppliers around the world.

In addition, it coordinates the manufacturing of the plants of Kecskemét (Hungary), Beijing-Benz Automotive (China), Uusikaupunki (Finland) and Aguascalientes (Mexico).
