Clean development mechanism (CDM) is a United Nations-run carbon offset scheme which allows countries to fund greenhouse gas emissions-reducing projects in other countries and claim the saved emissions as part of their own efforts to meet international emissions targets. “Efforts need to be made at all levels to reduce carbon emissions by involving all stakeholders, including the rural mass,” said S N Patro, president of OES.
