Charge Amps is a Swedish-born company that develops smart EV charging solutions for the European residential, commercial and public charging markets. Since launching its first charging station, the Charge Amps Halo, in 2015, Charge Amps has sold 100,000 EV charging points to individual and business customers in 15 countries.
Charge Amps’ products are produced in Sweden, and are designed to be durable in all weather conditions. The Halo charging station has the highest IP rating (a measure of water and dirt resistance) on the market, the company claims.
Charge Amps’ products are made from recycled aluminum, and boast a sleek and stylish design. All feature dynamic phase and load balancing, as well as smart charging, which allows users to schedule charging when prices are lowest and renewable energy is available. This can be controlled via the Charge Amps Cloud Platform and app, or by a user’s energy company via a Partner API.
The Charge Amps Cloud charging management system incorporates OCPP, energy management features and a health check system.
“While customer demand [for EVs] is growing, most cities still have a long way to go until they reach a zero-emission future, largely because of a lack of charging infrastructure,” said Charge Amps CEO Olle Tholander. “Our homes and offices make ideal locations for charging. By making high-end charging solutions that are smart enough to maximize energy and cost-efficiency, while not disrupting the architecture of any building they are installed on, we can fill the gap left by public EV charging stations.”
