Bitsmedia, the Singapore-based creator of Muslim lifestyle app Muslim Pro, has announced raising $20 million in a Series A funding round backed by venture capital firm Gobi Partners.
The fresh funding from the round, which was also participated by existing investors CMIA Capital Partners and Bintang Capital Partners, will be used to advance Bitsmedia’s AI capabilities and improve the Quran experience within Muslim Pro, among others.
Headquartered in Singapore, Bitsmedia is recognised for its flagship product, the Muslim Pro app, which has amassed over 150 million downloads globally.
Muslim Pro helps individuals enhance their spiritual journey. The app provides a comprehensive suite of features, including accurate prayer times, Qibla direction, the Holy Quran, Islamic calendars, and various resources, all integrated within a user-friendly interface.
In July 2022, Bitsmedia launched Qalbox, a global content streaming service that celebrates Muslim identities and cultures.
The startup plans to expand further into the US, the UK, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Middle East.
“The latest funds infusion, in collaboration with the industry’s best investors, puts us on the right track to achieving our vision of becoming the ‘Digital Home for All Things Muslim’,” said Bitsmedia managing director Nafees Khundker.
Bitsmedia last raised an undisclosed amount in 2022, in a round backed by Bintang Capital Partners and CMIA Capital Partners.
