OSAKA — Toyota subsidiary Daihatsu Motor plans to stop shipping all cars produced in Japan and overseas as the scandal over its manipulation of safety tests spreads significantly beyond the six models identified so far, Nikkei has learned.
Daihatsu President Soichiro Okudaira on Wednesday visited the transport ministry in Tokyo to report the findings of an independent panel. The company is expected to hold a news conference in the afternoon on the findings and its production plans moving forward.
