Adani Total Gas Limited (ATGL) and Shigan Quantum Technologies Limited (Shigan), an alternative fuel system solutions provider, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaboratively explore and promote the decarbonization of the supply chain. The initiative aims to create an ecosystem facilitating the transition to cleaner fuels such as Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
The MoU outlines the exploration of retrofitting internal combustion engines (ICE) for alternative fuel use, primarily focusing on transportation and mining applications. Both partners will extend their efforts to fleet operators, including those within Adani Group companies operating in sectors like cement, ports, and logistics. Additionally, the collaboration will explore applications in stationary engines, locomotives, and marine equipment.

Beyond retrofitting solutions, the partnership aims to develop e-mobility solutions for last-mile delivery players and explore the potential use of green hydrogen as fuel for internal combustion engine vehicles.

Suresh P. Manglani, Executive Director and CEO of ATGL, emphasized the collective vision for a greener and more sustainable future. He highlighted the intent to co-develop end-to-end solutions supporting the transport and mining industries in their decarbonization journey, aligning with the country’s net-zero commitments.

Shishir Agrawal, Managing Director of Shigan, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasizing its significance in advancing joint commitments to environmental responsibility. The transition to cleaner fuels is expected to reduce carbon footprints and inspire positive change within the industry.
