BitGo’s Singapore arm has received in-principle approval from the MAS for a Major Payment Institution Licence, while SIRCLO has partnered with Shopify.
Crypto firm BitGo gets in-principle nod for MPI licence
US-based crypto custody firm BitGo’s Singapore arm has received in-principle approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) for a Major Payment Institution Licence, per a release.
After receiving the full licence, BitGo will be able to offer regulated digital payment token services in the city-state, allowing clients to buy and sell digital assets from its insured cold storage custody solution. Clients will have access to aggregated deep liquidity and industry leading security and custody.
“This in-principle approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore comes on the heels of obtaining our BaFin licence in Germany. We look forward to expanding our global footprint and providing our clients with regulated, secure, and trusted solutions,” said Mike Belshe, CEO of BitGo.

SIRCLO, Shopify to integrate e-commerce infrastructure
SIRCLO, an omnichannel commerce enabler in Indonesia, has partnered with global e-commerce platform Shopify which will see its customised technology arm SWIFT Omnichannel integrate with Shopify’s commerce infrastructure, according to a release.
Leveraging SIRCLO’s understanding of local market intricacies, the collaboration aims to tailor Shopify’s global platform to the specific needs of Indonesian businesses and consumers, focusing on digital marketing solutions, payment methods to expeditions, and ensuring a shopping experience that resonates with the local business needs.
