China’s automobile exports are expected to reach the world’s first in both quantity and value in 2023,according to customs data compiled by the China Passenger Car Association on Tuesday.
The country’s auto exports from January to December 2023 reached 4.91 million, up 57.9 percent year-on-year, China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said on Tuesday.
China’s total auto sales will reach 31 million units in 2024, up 3 percent year-on-year, predicted CAAM. Among them, the sales volume of passenger cars will be about 26.8 million units, an increase of 3.1 percent. Export sales will rise to around 5.5 million vehicles.

China’s latest data on its automobile exports is the newest indication that the country has now become a global auto export powerhouse, largely on the strength of its nimble electric car makers, Reuters said Tuesday.
