BPCL inks agreement with Trinity Cleantech to set up EV 3w and 2w charging points in UP

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited has entered into an agreement with Trinity Cleantech Private Limited, a Hyderabad based company to set up Electric 3-Wheelers and Electric 2-Wheelers DC Fast Charging Points in Uttar Pradesh.

BPCL and TCPL have signed the Agreement for 3 years which is extendable for another 2 years on mutually agreed terms and conditions.

As a part of this agreement, TCPL would start its first installation in Ayodhya at BPCL Energy Stations and support the launch of EV autos for the Temple inauguration event which will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India.

TCPL will initially focus on cities such as Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Noida, Saharanpur and Agra in the state of Uttar Pradesh to set up DC Fast Charging Stations at BPCL Outlets in the state.

Rahul Tandon, Chief General Manager (Marketing) Retail, BPCL said, “The pooling of resources in the public and private sectors to create necessary infrastructure is a great way to promote electric mobility.”

TCPL will be responsible for setting up the EV fast-charging stations at BPCL Retail Outlets adhering to BPCL standards and Petroleum & Explosives Safety Organization (PESO) norms for civil and electrical work. As part of the agreement, the DC Fast Chargers will be co-branded and installed in the outlets of BPCL across major cities of UP.

TCPL, a leading Charge Point Operator with over 800 EV Charging Stations in the country, will be responsible for the Safety, operations and maintenance of these DC Fast Charging Stations. They will also be responsible for generating Demand, managing customer complaints and the operations and maintenance of the fast chargers.

This association will pave way to eliminating range anxiety in a one of its kind initiative in India, where these charging points can handle vehicles of 20V to 120V with a current dispensing capacity of 100 Amps per hr. The same would enable an electric 2-wheeler of 20Ah battery to get fully charged in less than 12 mins making it a perfect solution for busy urban roads and especially for commercial drivers and delivery agents.

TCPL has laid a strong foundation for charging infrastructure through its intelligent substations for smart charging solutions for all EVs. TCPL has created more than 30 MW of charging infra till date.
