LMG Manufacturing GmbH inaugurates high-tech e-mobility plant in Germany in collaboration with BMW

LMG Manufacturing GmbH inaugurated its new production hall in Hoym/Seeland, Germany, after just ten months of construction. The aluminum die-casting specialist, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JHI International BV, a part of the Dr. Abhay Firodia Group of Companies from India, is a significant collaborative venture between BMW and Jaya Hind Industries Private Limited. The new facility, located in East Germany, focuses on producing High Precision Electro Mobility Parts for European customers.

Sven Schulze, Minister for Economic Affairs, Tourism, Agriculture, and Forestry for the state of Saxony-Anhalt, stated “The expansion of the location by LMG Hoym shows that the company is meeting the challenges of structural change in the industry with innovative solutions. This not only creates new jobs but also promotes further economic development in the region. This will accelerate our course and keep Saxony-Anhalt in the fast lane.”

Prasan Firodia, Managing Director of Jaya Hind Industries Private Limited, India, highlighted the German-Indian partnership and the technical expertise of the parent company, Jaya Hind Industries, leading LMG into a future of electromobility.

The expansion of the site in Hoym has been dynamic, with the groundbreaking ceremony in March 2023, topping-out ceremony in May 2023, and the official start of series production with the inauguration of the production hall. Within nine months, the number of employees increased from 140 to 240, making LMG a significant employer in the region.

Markus Bauer, District Administrator of the Salzland district, emphasised LMG’s reliance on innovative and future-shaping technologies in the field of mobility. LMG has shifted from manual to fully automated manufacturing processes, enhancing efficiency and competitiveness. The company’s unique selling point lies in combining aluminum die casting and plastic injection molding through specialised process technology, marking a Europe-wide distinction.

LMG’s portfolio includes the production of casting and punching tools, mold inserts, and milling devices. The company has transitioned to fully automated manufacturing, a significant milestone. LMG Managing Director Clemens von Reyher emphasised the success foundation in the trusting cooperation of employees and the close support from their main customer, BMW AG.

Dr. Wolfgang Blumlhuber, BMW division manager, expressed pride in LMG becoming an important Tier 1 supplier for their company. Dr. Robert Franke, Managing Director of the investment and marketing company Sachsen-Anhalt mbH (IMG), congratulated LMG on the start of production, highlighting the growth spurt for the company and its crucial role in the transformation of the automotive sector.
