In its plan for the next five years, the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) may adopt a corporate approach to increase the revenue of the corporation, the newly appointed chairperson of RSRTC Shreya Guha had instructed the officials on Saturday. “Chairperson had said that accountability of officers is very important to improve the financial condition of roadways and to ensure a profitable operation of buses. She said that the corporation should make efforts in every direction by adopting a business approach along with the responsibility and social responsibility given by the state government,” stated a RSRTC official.
The chairperson had also directed the officials to compare the revenue with previous years and find new alternative ways to achieve the targets. In fact, she had asked officials to analyse the performance of profitable roadways undertakings in other states, as well.
Mrs. Guha has also given instructions to prepare a report on the age analysis of the employees retiring in the corporation and the condition of the buses which are about to be condemned.
In the meeting, Managing Director of Roadways, Nathmal Didel discussed the structure of the corporation, its work, income-expenditure, financial assistance received from the state government, per kilometer cost of buses, outstanding amount received from RTDIF fund and benefits given to various categories including women and students. tnn
