Lotus announces European EV charging partnerships with Bosch and Mobilize

Lotus has announced two new pan-European charging partnerships with Bosch and Mobilize Power Solutions that will help support its EV customers.

Through the new collaborations, owners of the Lotus Eletre will be able to leverage Bosch and Mobilize’s charging capabilities to charge the e-SUV at home or in public – offering them new opportunities to access easy-to-use, reliable, charging. Lotus confirmed that users of its forthcoming electric hyper-GT model, Emeya, will also be able to benefit from the new charging partnerships. Both EVs come with a 350 kW DC fast-charger, which can replenish 74 miles (120 km) of range after approximately five minutes of charging. With the charger, Lotus expects that a 10% to 80% recharge will take around 20 minutes for the Eletre, and around 18 minutes for the Emeya.

Through the Bosch charging network, Lotus owners will be able to access more than 600,000 public charging stations located across 30 European countries – including the UK, Germany, and France. In the future, Lotus will continue to expand its charging network further across Europe by adding additional network operators over time. Drivers will be able to access the network using a dedicated Lotus Charging Card, and can find key information, such as their charging history, costs, battery status, and more, using the Lotus Cars smartphone app. Lotus’ in-vehicle infotainment system, Hyper OS, offers further support – using intelligent EV routing to help drivers locate nearby public chargers, while also suggesting alternate routes based on the vehicle’s real-time battery consumption.

Lotus’ partnership with Mobilize is focused on home charging, offering an all-inclusive package which includes the supply and installation of a home charging point, with personalized support from ordering to commissioning. Priced from £1,199 including VAT (from €2,155 including VAT), the point also offers a tethered cable as standard, and can utilize energy generated by a domestic solar array.

The charging partnerships follow the launch of Lotus’ own charging solutions, including a 450 kW DC charger, power cabinet, and modular unit for charging up to four EVs simultaneously. These solutions, and the new partnerships, contribute to the OEM’s Vision80 strategy through which it is aiming to become an all-electric luxury technology brand by 2028.
