It was a meeting on January 24 that ignited the situation: “management confirmed its intention to impose only 15 days of paid vacation” explains a leaflet from the CGT PSA. The Stellantis site in Sochaux may only close from August 5 to 18.

“Usually, we have three weeks, and now they will tell us at the end of April if we have two or three weeks,” says Jérôme Boussard, general secretary of the CGT PSA Sochaux. “Only if there are no orders will it be possible for the majority of us to have three consecutive weeks of leave” describes the leaflet. “Now is the time that we need to plan ahead to organize our vacations.”

“We ask that the leave belongs to us and that we take it when we want,” explains Jérôme Boussard, “and if there is a period of closure, it’s three weeks. Two is not possible.” .

Employees are called to stop work at 8:45 a.m. for the morning shift, and at 4:40 p.m. for the evening shift, to decide whether to strike and for how long.
