STATEMENTS

José López-Tafall, general director of ANFAC, indicated that “a new year begins with a view not only to surpassing the previous year’s records, but also to achieving the objectives set for this year. The first month begins with a 12% increase in sales, with nearly 8,000 electrified sales. We are growing, yes, but at a very slow pace that even places the electrified market share below the average of 12% with which we closed the year and far from the record of 15% of total sales last December. This 2024 cannot be another exercise of intentions, it must be the definitive consolidation of electrification in our country. We are still far from the European average, located at 22.3%, and the gap between those who are accelerating and those who are left behind is increasing. Brands already put models on the market, now it is necessary to generate a context that encourages their purchase. From ANFAC we have already transmitted to the government measures with which to boost the market: replace the current MOVES plan with one with direct aid in purchases, favorable taxation, especially focused on companies with deductions in VAT and corporate tax. and greater agility in the implementation of new public access charging points. “We are still in the electrification race, but now is not the time to relax, but to act and consolidate the electric vehicle as a purchase option.”
