Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has already begun the construction works of stations to come up on Phase II line.There would be a total of eleven stations on the 11.2 kilometre new ‘Pink Line’ of Kochi Metro. The new stations to be constructed at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) stadium, Palarivattom Junction, Palarivattom Bypass, Chembumukku, Vazhakkala, Padamughal, Kakkanad Junction, Cochin SEZ , Chittethukara, KINFRA InfoPark-1, and InfoPark-2. Land acquisition for the phase II line, from Palarivattam to Kunnumpuram has been already completed as part of the initial works.
Finance budget 2024-25 presented by minister K N Balagopal has announced an allocation INR 239 crore for the ongoing development works of Kochi Metro.
The fund allocation is expected to speed up the ongoing construction works of Phase II line of Kochi Metro from JLN stadium to Kakkanad and the procedures to construct a Phase III line from Aluva to Nedumbassery.

KMRL is planning to complete the construction of the Metro Phase II line by January 2025. A consortium of Systra and Systra MVA Consulting India Pvt Ltd has been appointed the general consultants, while Egis India has been appointed as the detailed design consultant.
