Around 100 automobile dealers are expected to display vehicles and launch new products in the month-long Ujjain trade fair to be held between March 1 and April 9.
“We have already registered 56 automobile dealers and a total of around 100 automobile dealers are expected to showcase vehicles in the trade fair. Some companies may also launch new products in the fair. A proposal to offer exemption on road taxes is under consideration and a nod is expected soon,” Ujjain Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh said. He said that the exemption in taxes would be extended to electronic products also.
Ujjain Municipal Corporation had invited bids from traders/dealers and firms for allocating temporary plots for setting up stalls in ‘Ujjaini Vikram trade fair’.
Industry players said that discounted prices and offers on cars, two-wheelers and electronic items would help in clocking good deals and sales in the fair.
The trade fair area is divided into different sectors for automobile, electronics, handicraft and food.
Ujjain district administration is roping in local artisans and craftsmen for showcasing products in the fair. “The idea is to give a platform to local craftsmen in this fair. Batik print, Bagh and local artistic items will be on display in the fair. This will give local artists a platform to showcase their products and extend reach to customers,” Singh said.
