For the first time in the state, the auction of 79 major minerals is starting from Wednesday, which includes the mining lease of 68 blocks of limestones, 11 blocks of siliceous earth, fluorite, base metal, and iron ore for the composite license.
The department has launched a 15-day state-wide joint campaign against illegal mining activities along with an auction of minor and major mineral blocks, the auction of RCC-ERCC contracts in action mode.
Secretary mines and petroleum Anandhi said, “The e-auction of major mineral blocks will be done on the MSTC portal of the Government of India, so that any person sitting in the country and anywhere in the world can participate in the e-auction from anywhere by registering on the portal.”
The e-auction process for mining lease of 15 limestone blocks in Nagaur district will start from Feb 21 and will continue till March 11, this year, as per the schedule available on the website. Similarly, e-auction of 51 limestone blocks of Nagaur district and one limestone block each of Chittorgarh and Jaisalmer will start from March 26 and will continue till June 13.
The e-auction process for composite licenses of 11 blocks of major minerals will run from March 26 to April 11, 2024. This includes e-auction of four siliceous earth blocks of Jaisalmer, three blocks of siliceous earth of Barmer, one block of fluorite in Jalore, one each of base metal in Chittorgarh and Bhilwara and one block of iron ore in Jaipur through e-auction.
Major minerals include Limestone, Manganese, Iron Ore, Copper, Lead-Zinc, Siliceous Earth, Garnet, Emerald, Gold, Lithium etc
Director mines Bhagwati Lal Kalal said that the department has so far auctioned 16 major mineral blocks in this financial year. Now the auction process of 79 blocks has been started.
