Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have reduced prices of petrol and diesel across the country by Rs 2 a litre from March 15, 6am, as per a PTI report. This ends a nearly two-year-long hiatus in rate revision of the two fossil fuels, just hours before the general election schedule was announced.
Petrol in the national capital will from March 15 cost Rs 94.72 a litre compared to Rs 96.72 per litre, while diesel will cost Rs 87.62 compared to Rs 89.62 a litre at present.

The much-awaited reduction in petrol and diesel prices will help reduce the hit on motorists’ wallets since mid-2022 and also reduce operating costs for over 58 lakh heavy goods vehicles running on diesel, six crore cars and 27 crore two-wheelers in India.
