Suzuki Motorcycle India has posted a 6.2 percent on-year growth in its March total sales, while its sales during the financial year 2024 rose 21 percent to a record level.
The two-wheeler subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corp despatched a total of 1.04 lakh vehicles in March, compared with 97,584 units in March 2023. Sales in the domestic market increased by 18 percent to 86,164 units during the month, while exports fell 29 percent to 17,505 units.
Meanwhile, the company despatched a total of 11.34 lakh units during 2023-24, against 9.38 lakh units in the year-ago period. This is the first time that the company achieved 11 lakh units in annual sales. Domestic sales were 26 percent higher at 7.31 lakh units, while export volume grew 3 percent to 2.13 lakh units.
During the year, the company introduced the Suzuki V-STROM 800DE, marking its first 800cc-class motorcycle in India. Suzuki also updated its entire domestic line-up with E20-compliant engine and expanded its footprint with new dealerships in states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Punjab.
